Revving the cloud innovation engine at VMworld 2017

September 4, 2017 by Mary Allen

To capture a feel for the enormous change taking place in the tech world, and for explosion of product innovation on display at VMworld’s 2017 end-user conference, CEO Pat Gelsinger channeled Aliens, Star Trek, and quantum entanglement theory to proclaim that “science fiction is becoming science fact for everyday use.”

ReMAPping value networks: only in Canada, eh?

September 11, 2017 by Mary Allen

Inspired by cooperation between Silicon Valley startups and Toronto-based electronics manufacturing services provider Celestica, ReMAP CEO Irene Sterian has created an accelerator on Canadian soil to ensure that startup funding doesn’t stop at the University door; rather that good Canadian ideas progress from prototype to market, while creating local jobs.

ReMAP activity has been critical to filling the funding gaps; the centre now boasts a “product enablement ecosystem” with over 40 partners that are working to support 20 projects. The key? ReMAP's “supply chain network” and "lateral innovation," which are unleashing new productive capacity and job growth here in Canada.
