Services for Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners
TADL is pleased to partner with Traverse City SCORE to offer small business mentoring at the Woodmere (Main) Branch on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon on the second floor in Study Room D.
Starting in March, SCORE will also begin offering monthly small business workshops in the McGuire Community Room on the second Tuesday of the month. The first workshop will be held Tuesday, March 13 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Read More.
Kingsley Branch Library Gets Cooking
Cream puffs, mocha mint cake roll, and pecan pie...just a few of the delicious edibles library patrons are cooking up through a new program at TADL's Kingsley Branch. Cheri Grinnell Arciniega Debuts Artwork at the Library
Local artist, Cheri Grinnell Arciniega will debut her collection during a solo exhibition at TADL's Woodmere (Main) Branch in February. An opening reception will be held Thursday, February 9 from 7-8:30 p.m. in the McGuire Community Room. Read More.
E-Book Tip of the Month
E-books downloaded from TADL will automatically become unreadable and return themselves after the lending period is over. E-books can also be returned early and TADL provides step-by-step instructions to do so. Read More.

Evergreen System Upgrade
Woodmere (Main), East Bay, and Fife Lake Libraries Close at 6 p.m. on Tue. Feb. 21
Patrons will not have access to online resources at this time. This includes the use of online databases that require authentication, downloading e-books or e-audiobooks from Overdrive, streaming video, TADL's online catalog and patron accounts (via the online catalog or the mobile app). Services should be restored no later than 9 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22. With this upgrade patrons should notice a performance increase when browsing TADL's catalog. Read More.
East Bay Branch Closed Tue. Feb. 28 for Presidential Primary Elections
TADL's East Bay Branch will be closed Tuesday, February 28 to allow East Bay Township use of the library building for official election duties. The East Bay Branch will re-open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 29. Read More.

Nice to Meet You
Mary Fraquelli manages the Kingsley Branch of the Traverse Area District Library. In June of this year, she will celebrate her 16th anniversary with KBL.
Mary is an avid trail rider and volunteer for Horse North Rescue. She has owned, trained and cared for horses for more than 34 years.
She owns two horses, Zane, a registered Tennessee Walking Horse and Hute (pronounced Hootie, the Native American meaning of Star) a registered Missouri Fox Trotter.
Mary has been building her "Horse Library" by collecting books for more than 30 years and says it is one of her most treasured collections. "I look forward to re-reading each book when I retire some day," she said.
Mary, what are you reading?
"I just discovered a new author, Karen White and I'm reading a second novel by her, The Memory of Water."
The Friends of the TADL Gift Shop is currently seeking volunteers. Gift Shop shifts are three hours in length, one day per week. Learn more.
The Traverse Area District Library (TADL) is a network of community libraries serving Grand Traverse County through the following locations: the Woodmere (Main) Branch in Traverse City including the Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, East Bay and Kingsley Branch Libraries; Member Libraries: Fife Lake Public Library, Interlochen Public Library, and Peninsula Community Library; and the Grand Traverse Law Library.
TADL provides a wide variety of services, including the loan and inter-library loan of a broad collection of book titles (print, audiobooks, e-books, and e-audiobooks), periodicals, DVDs, CDs, subscription databases, publicly accessible computers, free WiFi, a variety of meeting spaces, blind and physically handicapped services, and free programming for all ages.
