INTRODUCTION FROM MALCOLM WILSON OBE, M-SPORT MANAGING DIRECTOR

The team are back at Dovenby Hall but there's no time for a rest as we're off to Germany for a test next week and this will be shortly followed by the ninth round of the WRC - ADAC Rallye Deutschland.

I can't deny that I'm a little disappointed about the result in Finland. We managed to win 15 out of 22 stages yet we didn't leave with an overall victory. Jari-Matti did a fantastic job but he never really felt relaxed with the car until the last few stages. Mikko had an amazing comeback to hold second in the championship standings, but it's a shame he couldn't take the victory - he was undoubtedly the fastest driver which was demonstrated by his win in the Power Stage.

The WRC Academy has now reached the season's half-way point and it is of great credit to Egon Kaur who took his third win of the season. It is fantastic to see such homegrown talent deriving from Eastern Europe and I feel this is an area where we will see many more up-and-coming rally stars over the next few years.

Germany is going to be interesting - it'll be the first all-asphalt rally of the season so it's a big leap into the unknown for the Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Both Mikko and Jari-Matti showed an impressive show of speed on the asphalt sections in Argentina and the team also had a very successful test in France at the end of June. We'll be looking to take advanatage of a test in Germany next week which will help ensure our drivers are fully prepared for the challenges that lie ahead.

In other news, our solar energy plant is now up and running at Dovenby Hall. Environmental awareness remains a company philosophy for M-Sport and we will continue to look at other initiatives which will help reduce our carbon emissions in the future.

Prior to Finland we launched the new Ford Fiesta Regional Rally Car (RRC) and the Ford Fiesta MS1 - they're cars we are immensely proud of. They also add to Ford's "ladder of opportunity", with the Fiesta MS1 ideally suited for drivers just starting out in their career and the Fiesta RRC aimed at the sport's most experienced competitors. I'm looking forward to seeing both of these cars hitting the world market and monitoring their progress as they compete in rallies across the globe.

ØSTBERG FLIES TO SIXTH AFTER FINISH FINNISH THRILLER

Mads Østberg narrowly missed out on fifth place at Neste Oil Rally Finland after a three-way battle between the M-Sport Stobart Ford driver, Petter Solberg and Ford Abu Dhabi’s Mikko Hirvonen went down to the wire. Team-mates Henning Solberg and Matthew Wilson finished seventh and eighth respectively in the Ford Fiesta RS WRC.

KUIPERS GRABS AIRMILES AND MANUFACTURERS' POINTS

In one of the most specialised rallies in the WRC, the FERM Power Tools World Rally Team managed to score points in the Manufacturers’ championship in their Ford Fiesta RS WRC. Kuipers and Frederic Miclotte managed, in the hilly gravel roads of Finland to finish 11th overall.
