Message From Susy

It’s been a busy few months and we thought it was best to hold off on sending out the newsletter. Some changes have occurred in the Moral Fairground team.
Unfortunately, Boby Vosinthavong is not longer part of the Moral Fairground team. Boby and I were the original founders of Moral Fairground and the work we have done so far has been driven by passion and determination. Due to personal reasons, Boby is no longer able to continue but she is still very passionate about fair trade and ethical business practices and will continue to be an advocate of the work of Moral Fairground

Boby was instrumental in creating Moral Fairground. She possesses incredible skills, passion and knowledge and I will personally miss her as my right hand woman. I wish her a wonderful journey ahead.

On a positive note, I would like to welcome Amy Lees as the newest member of our Advisory Board. Amy has a strong commitment to the principles of social justice and is incredibly talented in working with communities and forming partnerships. Meet Amy, and the rest of our Advisory Board team

Going forward, Moral Fairground is now looking for a new partner to join our team (see below). We are seeking someone who is passionate about fair and ethical trade to help us explore the amazing possibilities that Moral Fairground can achieve.

Finally, the Victorian Fair Trade Festival is on again. This year, we have expanded our program to include a number of interesting components and we would love you to join us for the celebrations during Fair Trade Fortnight.

Are you an entrepreneurial self starter with a passion for fair trade and ethical business? Are you looking for a new challenge to consolidate your skills and contribute to leadership on fair trade issues across Australia?
Moral fairground is an established company looking for new members to join it's small team, with a view to director appointment in the medium term.
We're looking for skills or interests in event management, conscious capitalism, ethical marketing and with an interest in taking Moral Fairground to the next level.
The role will involve involve developing connections, finances and events, including the right venues, suppliers, exhibitors; co-design programs and a contribution to the future direction and development of the organisation.

We have an amazing program lined up for the Victorian Fair Trade Festival to celebrate Fair Trade Fortnight 2012 Festival
We have moved the Fair Trade Markets to the Atrium at Federation Square to take advantage of the great (and weatherproof!) location. We have also added some great new components. Don’t forget to book your exhibition space now, application close 20th of April 2012 Exhibitor Package

Fair@Square 2011

How did Fair@Square go?

With over 79,000 visitors, Fair@Square turned out to be an amazing event. Kicking off the event on the Friday night, we had a full house at Fair Fashion at BMW Edge. 8,000 people experienced first-hand what an ethical home can look like by visiting the walk-through display in the Fair Living tent.The event received such good media coverage that we ended up as a full page in The Age and other print and digital media, reaching well over 5 million people.

What did the public say about it? Well, they loved it! 94% of the people surveyed were very satisfied with Fair@Square and 92% would definitely attend again. Most importantly, we made an impact on the Australian public with 88% of people saying that the event made them more aware of fair trade and ethical products and 79% being more likely to purchase fair trade/ethically produced products.
