Pinebrook Salutes its Volunteers During National Volunteer Week
Pinebrook Board Member awarded Woman of the Year by Bethlehem YWCA

The work of volunteers is essential to maintaining healthy, dynamic communities. How often acts of heroism and selflessness are seen in providing aid in disasters, relief to those who lost so much and acts of kindness over and over again! National Volunteer Week is all about taking time to recognize the incredible contributions of volunteers and letting them know how much their efforts are appreciated, not just during this time, but all through the year.

Over the years Pinebrook has been the benefactor of thousands of hours of volunteer service. More recently, over 100 volunteers put in countless hours of time and dedication to support various agency events and programs such as the Easter basket donations for foster children, the holiday party for foster children, the Fair Parking fundraiser, the annual fundraising Luncheon and many other programs and events. Pinebrook owes so much to those who give of their time to support our service mission. So please join us in the spirit of National Volunteer Week as we acknowledge and thank our Pinebrook volunteers.

Mary Stubbmann, along with several other Lehigh Valley women and two teenagers, were honored on April 10th by the Bethlehem YWCA. Each year, the YWCA of Bethlehem honors women and teens for their outstanding service to the Bethlehem area community. The YWCA of Bethlehem is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

Mary has volunteered for Pinebrook Family Services as a member of the governance board since 1999, and from the very beginning of her tenure, she has shown an unwavering commitment to assisting the organization in advancing its service mission. Serving in various leadership roles (vice president and secretary) as a member of the Executive Committee since 2000, Mary also chaired the Board Fundraising Committee for many years, and has been an integral member of the planning committee for the agency’s primary special event fundraiser. With Mary’s help over the past twelve years, Pinebrook’s annual luncheon fundraiser has raised nearly $500,000 to support the agency’s continuum of community-based prevention, treatment, adoption, and placement services.

Mary also has volunteered for ArtsQuest for over 13 years. She served as the Vice Chair of the Banana Factory Council and is a member of the ArtsQuest Board of Trustees. She is a founding member of the Friends of Levitt Pavilion SteelStacks Board of Directors and currently serves as Vice President.

Mary is currently serving as the COO of Kevitch & Chung Aesthetic Surgery Associates.

Bob Jacobs, Pinebrook’s Executive Director, shared in a letter of recommendation on Mary’s behalf, “On a personal note, I have come to realize that Mary is one of those true gems you rarely get to meet in your lifetime. She is compassionate and firmly believes that every child deserves to be safe and nurtured and loved so that they can grow to become productive citizens and active community members. Mary is also passionate about the Lehigh Valley, has a great sense of humor (which comes in handy during difficult decision making times), is incredibly bright (but doesn’t take herself too seriously) and, quite simply, is a pleasure to be around.”
