INTRODUCTION FROM MALCOLM WILSON OBE, M-SPORT MANAGING DIRECTOR
We're just back from the sixth round of the WRC - Rally Argentina - where the Ford Fiesta RS WRC once again brought home strong points in both the manufactuers' and drivers' championships.
It was a fantastic performance from the car but sadly we didn't make it on the top step of the podium. Jari-Matti had the rally under control before damaging his suspension on a rock and Mikko produced a brave fightback to finish second. Argentina also marked the first time that the Fiesta RS WRC had performed on asphalt and we were very impressed with the results - it certainly bodes well for the sealed surface events later in the season.
Now we're full steam ahead to the Acropolis Rally of Greece - one of the most demanding rallies on the calendar due to the rock-strewn, blisteringly quick roads and sweltering temperatures. It's a real rally of endurance where skill, determination and sheer grit is usually the winning combination. Jari-Matti and Mikko both had a test over there before we went to Argentina so hopefully it should hold us in good stead for a spot at the top of the podium.
I hope you enjoy this newsletter and I look forward to updating you when we arrive back from Greece later this month.
