It seems the stigma of artists creating functional objects has all but disappeared. As proof of that, Kyle DeWoody and Artlog's own Manish Vora have just launched GREY AREA, a new website devoted to the space between art and object. Gathering works by artists emerging and established, the two have found no shortage of beautiful and interesting pieces to showcase on their site. There is something for everyone from $95 towels by Ed Ruscha to a $12,000 bench by Liam Gillick. Though launched earlier this month, GREY AREA is already opening its first pop-up next week in the Hamptons (July 22-31), with plans for LA, Miami, and NYC in the coming months. Make sure you join the mailing list at SHOPGREYAREA.com to find out about the pop-ups, new additions to the site, and other special events/happenings.
